FAQ'S

RECOMMENDATION LETTERS

Question: What is a recommendation letter? Does a PNM need a recommendation letter?

Answer: A recommendation letter is written by an Alpha Delta Pi Alum who has a connection to a Potential New Member going through recruitment.  Letters of recommendation are an opportunity for alum to share their connections to Potential New Members and share their personal knowledge of their attributes! Not only this, but recommendation letters allow for engagement between ADPI alum and current ADPI members and Primary Recruitment traditions! Recommendation letters are not mandatory; however, if a PNM or alum shares a connection with one another, we encourage them! Recommendation letters can be submitted online by visiting www.alphadeltapi.org, selecting the alumnae tab on the top left screen, and selecting “Recommend”. You will be guided through a Recommendation Form.

Question: How many recommendation letters does a PNM need?

Answer: While recommendation letters are not mandatory, they highlight the special connections PNMs have with our chapter.  Although they do not affect the recruitment process, any and all recommendation letters are encouraged to begin connections with PNMs early and learn more about them!

LEGACY
POLICY

Question: What is a legacy? What does being an ADPI legacy mean for me during my recruitment experience?

Answer: An ADPI legacy is a PNM who is a sister, daughter, or granddaughter of an initiated Alpha Delta Pi member.  While being a legacy does not impact an individual’s recruitment experience,  we love acknowledging the special connections shared! Contrary to some belief, a legacy does not guarantee a PNM a bid during their recruitment experience.

RECRUITMENT

Question: What does recruitment look like?

Answer: Recruitment still remains to be one of the most special experiences in sorority women’s college careers; it is an exciting time filled with joyfulness and excitement for the memories to come! Recruitment is a five-day process consisting of the following days: Meet the Greeks, Go Greek, Getting to Know You, Philanthropy, and Preference.  Meet the Greeks is an opportunity for introductions and “hellos” before the excitement begins! Go Greek is the first official day of primary recruitment and it is filled with conversations, getting to know the wonderful Greek chapters at WKU.  Philanthropy is a day focused on service, values, passions, and recognizing each chapter’s special connection to their philanthropic organization.  Finally, preference is a memorable day consisting of ceremonies to guide PNMs in helping them find their home and lifelong sisterhood! Here at Epsilon Delta, we hold the traditions of Alpha Delta Pi near to our hearts and celebrate the past, present, and future legacy of Alpha Delta Pi!

MISC.

Question: My daughter is going through recruitment, how do I help her prepare?

Answer: Recruitment is such an exciting time and influential experience in an individual’s college experience! The best way to help her prepare is to instill confidence and peace within her; she will have the best experience possible when she is enjoying the special time, staying true to herself, and embracing the special connections she has with all of Panhellenic's Greek women! Many girls want to be prepared for the questions they may be asked - we want to encourage girls to reflect more on who you are and what you are seeking in your college experience rather than stressing over the perfect answers!  Ultimately, we want the PNMs to thoroughly get to know us and we want to know what makes them who they are!

Question: I’m an alum, how can I help?

Answer:  We greatly appreciate alum engagement! We strive to continue the legacy built by our founders and alumni and engagement with you all keeps us  inspired and encouraged! For recruitment as well as year-round events, alum can help ADPI by:

  • Getting involved with the Facebook Group (ADPi Bowling Green Alumnae Chapter) where opportunities to serve are often presented

  • Writing recommendation letters for potential new members

  • Giving back to the chapter through service and support

  • Consider contributing to the Epsilon Delta Chapter of Alpha Delta Pi Opportunity Fund

  • Always promoting ADPI to your networks

  • Representing your lifelong letters!

Our chapter is happy to connect with alum and find an opportunity for you to connect with our chapter!
